Hereford Museum & Art Gallery
The Hereford Museum & Art Gallery began a redevelopment project around 2023, which included an opportunity to refresh the visual identity, this was my proposed idea for the new building.
Whilst these designs weren't taken forward, I was hired to help with the implementation of the chosen direction which included producing documents for print, marketing materials, signage, and liaising with marketing & design teams.
Project Duration: 1 Month

The key visuals for the identity were inspired by the architectural facade of the building itself, following research that highlighted the frequency of renowned museums utilising architecture within their branding.
This redevelopment seeks to create a "world class" museum & art gallery, so creating a visual identity that wouldn't feel out of place amongst other renowned museums & galleries was a key goal during this project.
The pointed arches, drawn from the architecture, create the shape of the logo as well as acting as a visual device across the museum service, from letterheads to lanyards, merchandise and tickets. The bright, bold colours help to reinvigorate the museum, carrying connotations of excitement and energy.
A mix of serif and sans serif typography is utilised across the identity, signifying the heritage and tradition of the museum whilst still being modern and forward facing.
